Echo Pharmaceuticals B.V., a Dutch-based drug development company, has secured several million Euros in a share funding deal with a foreign venture capitalist.

Echo is thrilled to have the backing of this venture capitalist as it will push Echo forward into the development of cannabis based drugs covering a market that promises to be very lucrative. Investigations show that cannabis based drugs may be effective in diseases like Parkinson, Multiple Scleroses and migraine. Echo expects to start clinical studies soon with Namisol, a sublingual tablet containing dronabinol. Dronabinol also seems to lower the need for morphine when given in combination with this drug, possibly limiting opioid related side effects.
